📍 Where is Wooley Pingle Shepherd’s Hut located?

Wooley Pingle Shepherd’s Hut is located in the village of Bonsall, on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District. It’s a peaceful rural setting, ideal for couples or solo travellers looking to switch off and enjoy nature, walking and quiet countryside.

🚗 How do we get there? Is parking available?

Full directions will be sent to you before your arrival.
There is private parking on site, though not directly next to the hut, as the hut is sited on the hillside. We are always happy to assist with taking bags up the steps to the hut.  The access is rural but suitable for standard vehicles.

🕒 What time is check-in and check-out?

• Check-in: from 3:00pm
• Check-out: by 10:30am
• We always hope to greet you, say hi and pass on keys.

🛏️ How many people can the hut accommodate?

The shepherd’s hut is designed for two adults, making it perfect for couples, anniversaries, romantic breaks or for just spending quality time together.  Single travellers are very much welcomed; it is a great space to escape the rigours of life.

🛏️ What is the sleeping arrangement?

The hut features a comfortable double bed with quality bedding provided. Freshly laundered linen is included for every stay. There is a step provided to assist in getting up into the bed area.

🔥 Is the hut warm enough in winter?

Yes. The hut is fully insulated with sheep’s wool insulation.  There are radiators and a log burner (Kindling and Logs provided), making it cosy and comfortable all year round.

🚿 Does the hut have its own bathroom?

Yes, the shepherd’s hut has its own private bathroom, including a hot power shower, toilet and wash basin.
Towels, soap, shower gel and hair products are provided for your stay.

🍳 What cooking facilities are provided?

The hut includes a well-equipped kitchenette suitable for preparing meals.
Typical facilities include:

• Hob, Oven and Grill
• Fridge (with a small top freezer section)
• Kettle
• Microwave (in the posh shed)
• Cookware, crockery and cutlery

If you’re planning something special, Bonsall and the surrounding villages have excellent pubs and eateries nearby.

🌿 Do we have a private outdoor space?

Yes. Guests have access to private outdoor seating immediately outside the hut, perfect for enjoying morning coffee, an evening drink, or simply soaking up the views and wildlife. As the hut is in an elevated position, there are 360 deg views of the surrounding area, and it is very secluded and quiet.

🔥 Are outdoor fires or BBQs allowed?

Yes.  A gas barbecue and outside smokeless fire pit (with logs) are provided for guests to use.

🐾 Are pets allowed?

I am sorry but we do not allow any furry friends to stay in the hut.

📶 Is there Wi-Fi and mobile signal?

Mobile signal can vary depending on network, which is part of the charm of a rural escape.
Wi-Fi availability (if provided) is intended for light use rather than streaming.

🌧️ What should we bring with us?

We recommend:

• Weather-appropriate clothing and footwear
• Walking boots for countryside paths
• Food and drink for your stay

Everything else you need for comfort is provided.

🥾 Are there walks nearby?

Yes — there are beautiful walks directly from the hut, as well as easy access to some of the Peak District’s best trails, villages and viewpoints.

🍺 Where is the nearest pub or shop?

Bonsall and nearby villages offer traditional pubs, cafés and local shops, all within a short drive or walk. The Barley Mow pub (legend in the area) is a few short steps away.

🚭 Is smoking allowed?

No. Wooley Pingle Shepherd’s Hut is non-smoking/ vaping inside the hut.

🔕 Are there quiet hours?

Yes. We kindly ask guests to respect the peaceful rural setting, especially during the evening and night.

🧹 Is the hut cleaned between guests?

Absolutely. The hut is thoroughly cleaned and prepared before each stay to ensure a high standard of comfort and hygiene.
